A structured railway-learning pathway
PAK-C06 develops focused technical knowledge and supervised practical competence for learners working with, inspecting, maintaining or supporting railway braking systems on freight wagons, locomotives, coaches and multiple-unit rolling stock.
The programme progresses from braking purpose, safety and documentation into compressed-air and pneumatic architecture, control/distribution equipment, mechanical and friction brake hardware, modern electropneumatic and adhesion-management interfaces, inspection/testing/maintenance, braking-performance and degraded-condition awareness, and a final integrated practical competency assessment.
The certificate supports maintenance trainees, workshop technicians, rolling-stock inspectors, production personnel, fleet-maintenance staff and learners progressing toward PAK-D01, PAK-D02, PAK-D03 or related specialist certificates.
Academic orientation
Specialist practical foundation in railway braking principles, pneumatic and mechanical brake equipment, brake control, friction braking, electropneumatic and dynamic-braking interfaces, wheel-slide protection, inspection, testing, diagnostics, maintenance, braking-performance awareness, ECM traceability and safety-critical competence boundaries
PAK separates academic learning from statutory or employer authorization. Completion of academic study does not by itself confer authority to perform licensed, certified or safety-critical railway duties.
